Vesten og resten
Mange frykter at Vesten er på vei ned, at deres ideer er i ferd med å bli utdaterte i en verden der andre land blir viktigere. Men det er feil, skriver Martin Sandbu i Financial Times: the “west” are in a rough patch. But they are far from being overrun, outcompeted or rendered obsolete by the emerging world. If the model on which western societies organise themselves looks chipped, it still produces unrivalled results.

«Most of the “west” – liberal democracies with capitalist economies but a degree of state welfare, including high-income Asian countries – are in a rough patch. But they are far from being overrun, outcompeted or rendered obsolete by the emerging world. If the model on which western societies organise themselves looks chipped, it still produces unrivalled results.»
