The Norwegian Atlantic Committee, in cooperation with Civita and the U.S. Embassy Oslo, is pleased to invite you to a breakfast seminar Tuesday April 3rd from 8.30 to 9.30 am.

America has long been considered the leader of the free world. A role that requires continued commitment to supporting democracy, countering authoritarianism, and promoting freedom globally. Will America continue to lead the free world, or is there a rising isolationist attitude that will define US foreign policy in the 21st century? Can Norway and Europe still rely on American security guarantees, or will Europe need to develop its own strategy without US as a key provider of security?

The speakers have been invited by the U.S. Embassy Oslo, which encourages and supports open, democratic, and free discussions. The opinions expressed in the discussion belong to the speakers and do not represent the official policies of the U.S. government.

Speakers:

Elizabeth “Betsy” Markey, former member of the U.S. Congress from Colorado (D).

Jim Gerlach, former member of the U.S. Congress from Pennsylvania (R).

The event is moderated by Eirik Løkke, fellow at Civita.
